Well I got my first coral today. A blue mushroom for a few things I traded. It isnt attached to a rock yet but I have it in a container with a rock with very low flow. My question is how long does it take for it to attach? Here is a pic for those of you who are picture junkies like me! Let me know what you think please.

Oh, how cute! It's lovely! I had a small red one that was barely attached to a shell...but alas, it disappeared in my tank. I've looked for it for over a week and I can't find it. Just keep a close eye on it that it doesn't get carried away with the current.

I have it in the lowest current area in the tank so I hope all goes well. I will probably turn off the powerhead that points in that direction while I am not around that way that one doesnt move it while I am at work.

Nice one. Why not put some bridal veil over the container instead of turning the flow off. That can cause some problems for you with algae.

Yeah I will pick some up tomorrow after work. I will have to get some rubberbands too. Any clue on how long it will take? After I see how this one does I am gonna try to frag one of them when I get another. Any tips would be really helpful.

I would place it on the rock you want and use bridal veil netting and rubber bands to keep it in place. It should attach in a few days.

The container will work too but it may slip off your rock of choice. I place Xenia frags in a container all the time to let them find a rock to stick to. If they're in a container you don't need to worry about turning off your power heads. Just stick the container in a low flow corner and you'll be fine. You can put netting over it if you like but you probabbly don't need to. I would not turn the flow off in your tank.

Under the actinics lights it is kind of greenish which is pretty cool. I cant wait for it to fully open up. It was about 4 inches or 5 inches in diameter at the lfs
