Hey guys, sorry I dont have a pic, waiting for my digi to arrive. Ive been cycling for 11 days now and noticed my first "lifeform". Have cured lived rock and live sand in my 65 gallon.

Best description I can give is that its tiny, maybe 1/5 of a cm. See through, looks like 2 small antenna at the front and a bunch of tiny legs on each side. It is just floating with the current.

Im stumped on what it may be and some ideas on a possible id so i can search for pics to make an identification. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

If it's floating in the current, it's probably an amphipod molt.

Bingo, either that or one unlucky 'pod that got caught in the current. (have a lot? If so, then good!) It could also have died in your cycle and be floating around, but I'd put more money on it being a molt or alive going for a quick swim :)

I've only noticed a couple so far. Def just going with the current and getting whipped around by my flow pumps. Still have fairly high Nitrite levels so dont hold high hopes that its alive.
