    I know i hate it nitrates 20-40 , phosphate 0 ph 8.3 , temp 82 -83 , beside getting achiller .I dont now what else to try , I pick it out all the time. the skimmer was not running right for about 8 months . the tank is one and half years old . but i hate hair alge!!!!!!!!!!!

    atleast its better then cyano though. how many urchins do you have?

    I hate hair alge !!!!!!! my nitrates 20-30. phosphates 0, ph 8.3, temp 82-83. do water changes every 2 weeks . also use ro water kent ,s 24 gph ro /di unit. I also harvest alge all the time . it keeps growing back ,dont know why ? I dont even hardly feed the 2 tangs. any suggestions, thanks

    I have not tried any critter packs yet. I have tried tangs and lown mower blenny. but they died from the ick. the only fish survided were the 2 yellow tangs and 1 goby diamond. the yellow tangs had ick bad to but coral banded shrimp seem to have cleaned them up

    2or 3 urchins should help control the algae a bit they wont fix it but they will eat a lot.

    yes get a short spined one the long spined one are annoying and knock stuff over

    my skimmer pump was right by my return pump ,they were pretty much fighting over water return pump is a mag 1200 . the sump is designed for up to 125 gals ( to small for 180 but i fig. its close enough) but the mag 12 would draw the water away from skimmer pump . I thought it was the pump going bad . so the tank ran basically with out skimmer for 8 months . I bought new skimmer pump and it did the same thing . so then i tried flipping intake ports away from each other . now turbo floater is working great. but i dont know if i will ever get rid of all the hair alge . what should i do to get rid of it . here are so pic of my sump
