    Hey all,
    I'm obviously new to your site. Got lucky my main pump Iwaki MD-100rlt stopped pumping a week ago. Unfortunately I it hard plumbed in with no unions and 1.5" valves that were frozen open. Was facing a replacement at $420 or more and parts aren't cheap either. Never had one apart before. Fantastic construction. Took 2-days of vinegar soaking. Disassembling and soaking in vinegar heated in microwave really helped loosen and allow scrubbing off. Runs like new! Good lessons to learn as I redesign my 180 gal setup. Does anyone use a bypass flushing loop for their external pumps or is it just better to remove and disassemble? thanks Murph

    Bravo!.. k+, just gotta get in there and do it!! Preventative maintenance is the key...as luna stated "try" to every month...I'm getting by about every two months...whatever works for ya.
