    Hey Guys and Gals.

Hoping you can help me out. My fish seem to bedropping like flies lately. About a week ago I lost my Naso. Then I lost a Lubox wrasse, then over the course of a few days I lost 3 BG chromis. I've been battling a Nitrate "issue" some will say it's not bad, but for me if it's not zero it's not where I want it to me.. Anyway- Here is some info.

120 gallon tank 15-20 gallon sump with Fuge.
    Bermuda Skimmer
    2 Vortech Impellers MP40w

    Salinity 1.024
    Temp -- see signature
    PH -- see signature
    ORP -- see signature
    Nitrites -- 0
    Nitrates -- 20
    Ammonia -- 0
    KH -- 196
    Calcium -- 540

Not sure where to go from here. Is there anything else I can check.. The only thing I can think is that while battling the Nitrates I have cut back on feeding.. Do you think things are getting attacked??

    Any help would be great.

    Justin

Do you have a grounding probe? What all else is in the tank? Have you verified the PH and ORP with manual testing?

Actually meant to mention that, no.. All the corals look fine. I thought of that too like maybe I had a something on my hands or something that got in to the tank.. Don't think that is the cases or I would think the corals would have been affected.

if your corals are fine then I don't think the problem is with the water chemistry...and your nitrate level is pretty low to be causing any real problem maybe some algae...how often were you feeding? And did you notice any signs before the naso died?

    Then --

I was putting Romain in daily for the Naso and the Hippo. (on a clip) then I was going back and forth every other day between pellets about 3 pinches and 2 cubes of Formula B.. (so daily feeding one day with pellets next day frozen cubes.)

    Now--

Romain for the Hippo every other day. and pellets or Frozen cubes every few days.

Do you wash the food before you put it in? I personally wouldn feed them anything we grow for ourselves, cause of preserves and hormones that we use.

Yeah I wash the romaine, and I send the frozen formula B through a strainer so all the real small piecese get rinsed out before I add it to the tank. I heard these smaller pieces could be adding to my Nitrates as they are too small for the fish to really fo after them.
