fish have ich!!

    in my 90 gallon reef i have a yellow tang a sailfin tang two damsels a maroon clown a percula clown and a pixy hawk, i think i can see ich on both the tangs and one of the damsels and the percula, how would i go about ridding them of this because i cant use copper meds for my reef?:angry:

    You feed them good, and keep water quality on par.

    Try go get some garlic added to the food, or selcon or equiv. If you have not added new fish in awhile and this just showed up on the fish, they are stressed and that needs to be resolved.

    i added the yellow tang and the peercula about 2 weeks ago, do you think they were the culprit? i will try the garlic with the food

    Garlic helps. Having a small uv on the system will help prevent the disease from spreading to other tank mates, and if you can, preform freshwater and/or medicated dips. For minor cases, food laced with rid-fungus or a small amount of metronidazole (a gelatin based food is best for metro.) will do wonders.

    i'd put my money on the yellow tang. If it is crypto...can you post pics? Without seeing what is going on, its hard to say if its crypto or not

    most likely the tang. Anyway just feed with garlic to keep the immune system strong and healthy.

    Thats on the heavy side for a stocking list also. That may be adding to the stress and affecting the fish.

    id still like a pic to confirm crypto, instead of a bacteria infection... :-/
