    what is the best combination of fish for a fast pace aquarium within a 55 gallon tank. i was also looking for big fish like 6-10 inches

    Wouldn't a fish only or fowlr be better in a 55g? You're able to keep very big fish imo.

    You could really do whatever you want in a 55.

    As for the big fish, I would say it's not neccesarily a good idea to put in certain species. You want to give at least 2x the fish's length as the depth (front to back), which leaves you with mostly 6-7" fish as your biggest.

    well i have around 2 pieces of live rock. does any one think i could fit 1 angel fish if i didnt have the reef

    You could definitely fit a dwarf angel. Once you start going into the full size angels, you're talking about not giving them enough room to turn around.

    i agree you could do a dwarf angel like the one in my avatar, or many others or you could do a small tang like a kole or bristletoothe, and so on then trade it in for credit once they get to big.

    could i fit a yellow tang, humu picasso trigger, 2 bicolor angel, hippo tang, colored volitan lionfish, blue hippo tang, another trigger fish and a few dotty backs and a goby with a small stack of rocks or a reef in a 55

    Every one of these fish are too big for a 55 except the bicolor, but I still wouldn't put them in there.

    These would be fine once your tank is established.
