    OOh my.

So sorry for your loss. I wish I read this before I went to the LFS. I just bought a flame angel, this evening. I love him. I also have a brittle star. The guy at the LFS told me brittlestars are harmless to fish..just feed him well....he always stays behind the LR. I can only imagine how I'd feel if flamey is gone by morning! My brittlestar is history now...Unfortunately, I get to learn from your loss.

Yeah come to find out brittlestars are opportunistic feeders. If they can grab ahold of something it is going to be lunch. good luck

Mine passed as well. I'm so sad.

I don't know what happened. I only had my flame angel 2 days, everyone else is fine. They were even swimming together earlier today. No harassing going on.....he looked so healthy to! Then I took a shower, got out and he was swimming sideways, 30 min. later he was at the bottom of the tank. I checked everything! He was gone within the hour.
I know it's silly. Everyone else says to me, it's just a fish. But i'm so sad. I really thought I was ready for him. Anyway, I can really sympathize with you now.

Sorry for your loss karma to you. What size tank do you have. I understand anything smaller than 30 is to small for them. I was pushing the limits with mine. But I definetly now that my brittlestar was the culpit. I was cleaning the tank last night and it was grabbing ahold of the mag float and the scraper. I returned it this morning.

Karma to you well. No one around here seems to understand! Thanks for the sympathy! I think maybe my tank was too small then. My flame had no visible marks on him at all to indicate illness. He was eating well. I'm clueless except I have a 20 gal. is all i can figure. I'm gonna take in some water sample to the lfs, there's one here that does extensive testing. All the best to you!

I might get jumped here:-[, but acclimating fish for more than half an hour starts to reverse any good.(of course it how you do it) Usually they run low on oxygen, the temp in the acclimation chamber drop dangerously low, the fish gets stressed beyond necessity. 20-30 Minute drip or add water to bag acclimation is more than enough. Once bag the is open ammonia accelerates and the longer the fish is in there the worse., inverts are totally different though!

I couldn't agree more. I only acclimate certain extremely sensitive inverts for long periods of time and even then, it's only for an hour or so.

I have always done at least 4 hour acclimation with anything but I was told this around 7 years and this is the first loss
