in two of my tanks i had a flatworm problem, in my sps tank i tryed sucking them out w/sm tube seems like they increased, i am a little nervous about nukeing my tanks but i do have a flatworm exit kit anyway ,in the sps tank i added a lemon wrasse who as of today has totally destroyed every worm only drawback, i had a huge population of mini brittle stars that he also took a liking to and now the only ones are in the overflow ,in my mixed tank i have been trying to keep them under control by sucking them up a trick w/these little ----s is to shine a light (small beam )they are attracted to the lite but i think i might haveto nuke this tanki have them sotra under control but cant get rid of them ,#1 reason to dip everything!

Uh, maybe there are flatworms in your over flow and you can't see them too.

LOL Nice!!! Good appetite. Lemme borrow him and he'll eat for a day or two, then you can have him back.

Yellowtail damsels are known predators for flatworms. Lets just say I have 2 yellowtail damsels, and I USE to have flatworms. But I dont feed my tanks every day, I feed every 2 or 3 days. All the fish I have right now are fish with purposes. Tangs for algae control, yellowtails for flatworm. I do have my clowns and a banghai cardinal. The cardinal doesnt eat when I feed, so its chowing down on something cause its been in there for about 6 or 7 months and Ive never seen it eat. Ive seen the clowns go after pods and digging around the tank looking for food.

The trick is to get them fresh from the wild, so they havent been adjusted to us feeding them so they will still hunt for food. Most decent LFS's will not sell a wrasse unless its already eating normal tank foods. If you want it to be a natural predator, ask them to order one for you.

I was kidding about taking a wrasse Tangster, I'll pick up the flatworm exit instead along with the ro/di. LOL your lemon wrasse is 3x bigger than anything in my tank, and it might scare the sh!t out of my leopard wrasse. I'm done on livestock till I upgrade to a bigger tank.

[IMG] Ha, Ha...where have I heard that before? --- can remember saying same about 3 or four fish ago...

(really, have done pretty well over last couple of years and have only added something new after a loss for what ever reason or other).....

(But seriously, if we ever decided to do a "fish inch" per gallon poll or contest, someone would really have a crowded tank to beat me. :-/)

    ;)
