I've seen alot of plumbing set-ups on this site that seem to use flexible pvc rather than the hard straight stuff that i'm stuck with now.

what is the flex stuff? where do i get it?

    thank you!!

The flex stuff is the same material as regular. You can get it at Lowe's or I got mine at a local pool and hot tub store. They cut me a deal since I bought the whole roll.

Reinforced pvc hose. But I dont like using it, especailly around lights. Algae will build up in the hose.

Not this PVC. piping its solid black or white no light can get into it.. I've never known of a lowe's to sell it Not any I have ever been too. We buy it by the rolls for jobs and keep it on hand all the time just because we can't get it localy unless we go to a pool suppky place and they are off the charts with it by the ft. I find .

Ya, same stuff. I got mine from HD and Lowes.

I just used it for the first time. It is flexible, and it will flow better than a bunch of elbows. However, it does have it's limits. It isn't a super tight turn. Also, if you do have a tight turn, it should not end in a fitting or something unsecured.

Like if you have a tight turm coming off your pump, the pump won't stay where you put it. Also reading up on it, it was not recomended to put a tight curve right before a glued fitting. Too much stress. Just some things to think about.

You should not use the normal PVC glue with spaflex. You want to use a glue with more solids in it, like the flexible PVC glue, Christys Red Hot, or the Wet or Dry glue.

Normally with 1 inch it is not to bad, but if you move up to larger sizes the heavy boded/heavy solids glue will hold a lot better.
