floating hydrometer

i have an instant ocean hydrometer and a coralife deep six hydrometer and im getting diff readings out of both of them.
Which one do i trust?

 

neither. If you have both calibrated then that is what I would trust. Find someone with a refractometer or a glass float then have them test water and then use your tester to get idea where the right read is at.

 

You should get a refractometer if you want to be accurate.

even the refractometer has to be calibrated to temp unless you get one that is self-calibrating

 

So what is the ultimite in accuracy. I mean what do they set all the mesurements too

 

most refractometers aren't accurate either the way they are calibrated. But they are consistent.
