I have a JBJ 24. I have the stock pump since the upgrade to the 1200 really does not make much of a difference. I also have a older power head 301 Placed right under the outlet pointing to the front center of the tank.

The issue is I always have junk on the rocks and on the bottom. I know I need more flow but not sure of the placement or what will work just enough without messing up the sand. Thanks in advance.

You need to get a few more powerheads. What size is your tank. I have a 50g and I have my heads blowing on my rock always. Make sure the pump is enough to keep particles suspended without blowing directly on corals.

I also use a powerhead to blow off my rock once or twice a week. you should also do this because no matter which way you postion your powerheads, they particles will find all the dead spots and still settle somwhere on the rock.
