I have a 38 gallon and just a Koralia 3 for now. I plan to add another Koralia to the other side of the tank either a 2 or a 1. With the 2 I should have 1450gph of flow. Is this too much?

IMO - depending what you are keeping, it might not be enough? or it could be to much

it works out as roughly 40 x water volume in turnover 40 x 38 = 1520 ( so your just under 40 with your 1450)
tank dimensions need to be considered - if it where a 38 gallon tall, then you could end up with a tidal wave using those two wavemakers in there
but if its a long tank- then IMO it would be OK

I have 38 x tank volume in a 4ft with just GSP and Antellia in there (plus fish) they sway about a bit, (the corals not the fish) but they dont seem unhappy in that much flow to me

    positioning is key IMHO

Not too much. I run 2X Mj1200 and a Koralia #2 in my 46. Positioning is everything

    Dimensions are 36x17x12wide

I plan to put them in opposite corners on the back facing towards the middle.

that sounds like an ideal place to start to me, you may have to alter hieghts or adjust target from there, depending on what you have and how it reacts

I like the 2 converging in centre, for my set up , simply becuase I have chosen to keep SPS corals in the middle area and the turbulance caused by the 2 flows meeting keeps them free of anything that might settle on them

if you find this is causing to much movement front and centre, lowering one so that the 2 flows do not meet head on or pointing them both so they aim just short of centre can reduce the amount of turbulent flow

trial and error , thats how I arrived at the placements I have
