I've been fighting flukes for a while now, and i moved my fish to qt to use some stronger meds to kill them. On Thursday, I noticed that my raccoons butterfly was beginning to cloud indicating the flukes are probably on his eye now. I dosed general cure, and now I'm on the second dose and it's gotten worse. His whole eye is pretty much white and it looks like there is a film flaking off. Should I continue what I'm doing? I figured I'd have to give it some time, but it hasn't gotten better in 3 days. Is it possible this could be a secondary infection because of the flukes?

here's what his eye looks like: it's pretty nasty.

    Thank you!!

Anyone have any idea if the eye thing is related to the flukes? Or an infection?

Never used General Cure, but Prazi Pro is excellent for treating flukes.

I've been using prazipro for weeks in the main tank and it wasn't working. Do you think it would work better in a qt tank? It's worth another shot I guess.

Just to make sure when you use Prazi-pro, you need to turn off carbon, skimmers, UV, etc. Otherwise it should be effective in the DT with multiple doses in a row (i.e. dose, wait 5-7 days, re-dose).

That's exactly what I did :( it just didn't work, I'd dose with5 days in between but they would just come right back.

Does the eye cloud look like flukes?

What about paraguard? Supposedly it works on flukes and bacterial infections

I ended up dosing a little paraguard and man, it worked! Overnight his eye cleared up a lot. It's not completely clear, but it'll get better hopefully.
