It's always fun to go the the LFS to see what they have. There's something different every time I go in there. It's like a museum. hehe
I saw one of these Flying Gurnards in there today:
Saltwater Aquarium Fish for Marine Aquariums: Flying Gurnard

Cool looking fish.. Not for my tank , but fun to see.

The guy said it will eat everything in a tank.

LOL, or glider. Could be like a colorful, slimy, flying squirrel sailing out of the tank ;D
    Cool looking though

they don't leave the sand, which is weird- why have wings if you aren't going to fly? See them diving in late summer in the gulf stream.

I had one....very very hard to keep. Must have lots and lots of live rock and "goodies" for it to graze on and then they still hide often. I saw a gigantic one in my LFS once...no kidding was the size of my hand. Have no idea how long that thing stayed alive. Was cool looking though.

I just read the actual description giving with the picture..says not a lot of rock...I found with mine it was constantly grazing off the rock...eating pods and such. It was small (baby compared to the one that I later saw) and had a ton of open sand to wander in, but I would still recommend a great deal of LR for grazing

never seen them near rock in the wild, they usually like the mud flats and sandy areas. but no individual fish really is exact with "how they are suppose to behave". They get huge, I think like around 12 inches.
