I was thinking about getting a Powder Brown Tang as you may have seen on previous threads of mine, but I decided it was too risky for me. Now I am looking at the Bicolor Foxface. I know this fish would be okay size wise in my 90. However, I've read that they may eat coral. Anyone have experience? Do they eat coral?

I've kept a couple different types of rabbitfishes, the basic foxface, a golden, a spotted, and one other, I cant think of the name, it had blue markings aound the face.

IMO, they are one of the dumbest fish I have every kept.
Real good algae eaters, and never had one pick on coral.

Here's why I think they could be the dumbest fish in the trade"
Yes, they are pretty despite the venomous fins, I dealt with that.
So I had a problemsome hawkfish I was trying to catch. The hawk was smart very smart.
So I tried setting up a little trap with a water bottle- clear- with some food in it, to lure him in. As you know, longnose hawks are pretty skinny, so when I made the opening, I made it, to what it seemed, just large enough to fit the hawk.
    Anyways,
Within 5 minutes of the trap being in there, the foxface(masked, the standard foxface), ended up in there. I dont know how he got in there but he did. So I had to very careful figure out how to get him out without hurting myself. Meanwhile, There was quite a desent size of frozen food in the bottle. The foxface didnt even notice he was trapped. I pulled the trap out of the water, and he was still eating, like crazy. Once I finally worked the trap open I put him back into the tank.
No sooner then five mins later, he turned colors and starting laying on the rocks. I honestly think he ate himself into a food coma. He layed there for the rest of the night until I went to bed. Dont know how much longer he stayed in his food coma but by the morning he was back to normal.

    And heres the best part,
I attempted to do the same trap again possibly the day after or two days after, and the dumb foxface did it again! The whole process started over. Trap, eat, food induced coma, next morning good.

Needless to say I quit trying to catch the hawk that way.

Sorry long post but its a funny story

So they won't touch coral? I read that they will only eat coral if they're hungry.

Mine foxface also acts pretty stupid sometimes. He does like to go to the surface, take in some air, then swim down several inches and release air bubbles through his gills, he will do this over and over for hours.

Another weird thing he will do is repeatedly run into the glass (with his mouth) over and over, maybe 10 times in a row in the same place. If he is eating something off the glass then it sure doesn't look like it, his mouth isn't even open!
