I got this on a piece of live rock and have had it for a couple months now, but could not get a good shot of it until now. Does anyone have any idea what this is? It's about the size of a nickel no bigger (although it keeps growing) and is shaped like a mushroom or anemone but has hammer coral like appendages. Please help I really hope its a good thing.

Yeah. I was going to say frogspawn. Hammer is basically the same. What color is it?

It's kinda pink and green colored, it is more green when it shrivels up

Does it look like a typical LPS? It looks like a keeper.

No it's not that green, and I have looked at Hammers before it's one of my favorite corals, it just looks more like a flat disk with those hammer like tentacles. I suppose it could be hard to tell unless someone has seen a baby hammer coral. Also the tips are not as defined on this as they are on a hammer.

Ohhhh. See, I still have difficulty with the two. Don't know why. My 6 year old has no problem. She was IDing them at the LFS right and left. Couldn't believe it. She surprises me sometimes.
