3reef is a great place to discuss saltwater issues, but as I go through the freshwater forums, I see the postings there are not as plentiful. Could someone recommend a good forum that is primarily for freshwater?

By asking this I am in no way putting down the freshwater forums here.

I'm pretty sure nearly everyone here has at least some experience with freshwater; it's a pretty common stepping stone to SW. I would post any questions you have, since you're pretty likely to get an answer, despite the main focus of saltwater.

That's very true. It would be great if the FW forums got as much traffic as the SW forums.

I know what you mean stauchistory

majority of membership here is marine focused , but some do still maintian freshwater set ups
and many as Blackraven stated have done so before coming into the saltwater hobby

but in general many people dont look at the freshwater section as often as they might check the general reef enquiries or new to hobby section

dont be afraid to bump a post - if you have a question in FW and its not being noticed, bump it to put it front and centre and hopefully this will be at a time one of the FW hobbyists or previous FW hobbyist is on site

there are forums of every description out there - general FW forums and even specialist forums for Cichlids, etc

Google is your best friend in this instance - do a search "freshwater aquarium forums" and Im certain you will find plenty of sites ( please understand Im not supposed to direct our customers elsewhere hence I wont put any links up)

dont forget though - for saltwater - 3 reef is second to none IMO

    Steve

Yeah, I understand that. At least, if the traffic were about advanced stuff, and not an onslaught of new people asking the same 3 questions about "why is my fish dying" and "why do I have algae everywhere". That could flood the site pretty quickly.

There's a decent number of people who run advanced planted FW tanks too, with CO2 injection and all that stuff. I figured I'd mention that.

Having a FW planted tank is a goal I have had for a long time. I think I'll give 3reef FW a shot since I've met such great people on the SW forums!!!
