    Hi everyone :),

So recently, i have had some peppermint shrimps, that ate a head of a frogspawn. It only ate part of it, and some tentacles are still thriving on that head. The rest of the frogspawn (Which includes about 5 more heads) is doing extremely well. It has lots of color, low flow, lots of lighting, eats alot and is just doing great. It has even grown amazingly within the last month. But since that single head isnt doing very well, some specific tentacles are falling off the coral, and its sitting on the substrate. I know that a frogspawn does this when it gets stressed, and then that way will try to spread across the reef by dropping tissue on the rocks and on the sand. My theory is that it probably got very stressed, after the peppermint shrimps has torn apart the coral. Do you guys think it will heal again? I got perfect water parameters, and you can go see them on my other thread called Frogspawn Problem. Oh, and one quick note, the peppermint shrimps have been put in quarantine in my sump, since i still have some few aiptasia, that has been growing in my sump. Thanks for the help on that one guys! :)

    So my final question is:
Will that single head die off, or will it maybe heal? Can a frogspawn recover from this damage?

I don't think the pepps were attacking the coral. They most likely were cleaning off dead tissue.

I respectfully disagree. Far too many threads on Pepps attacking perfectly healthy corals. I've experienced them killing healthy short-tentacled nems, as well. Just one of the drawbacks to adding a predator to eliminate a pest. :-/

As far as the head healing, only time will tell. I have seen some badly mangled corals recover nicely. As long as there's healthy tissue left, there is hope.

Only half of the coral is torn apart, so that you can see its skeleton. However, on the other half of the head, there is lots of healthy tentacles that are even trying to catch food (Even though its mouth is gone). The rest of the frogspawn coral is doing amazing though.
