Well, another tale from the tank.

One of the fish I have had the longest is my tank raised maroon clown fish, a Petco refugee. It wasn't even an inch long when it came home and went into the tank. I purchsed a small BTA and after about a month the maroon began hosting the anenome.

They both grew in size from last July until March and they got along swimmingly. Well in April the BTA took a dive and I was extremely fortunate to get it out of the tank before it disintegrated and fouled my tank. After the demise of the BTA, the maroon went through the expected seperation anxiety and found a ledge to hang out in. It has continued to grow and is really a good looking fish. The maroon is about three inches in length at this time.

Two weeks ago I noticed that the maroon was lightly hosting the green star polyps. It then moved to the green button polyps and exhibited the same behavior. Now it is really taking up seriuos residence in my green metallic wellsophyllia! The wellsophyllia sits on the sand and the maroon is into the full fledged tailing action and laying and nuzzling the fleshy part of the coral.

Will keep a close eye in the wellsophyllia to make sure the maroon is not damaging it, but I may be forced to get the maroon a new anenome, eh?

    :) ;) :D ;D 8)

[glow=Maroon, 3, 99%]Definitely Craig!! My maroon, BoBo, nearly killed my pink goniopora before I could find it a nice home; and if I don't find a home for the green one soon, it's a goner. The real kicker is that BoBo has a BTA!!

Yeah, you need to go get a BTA or a LTA for your maroon. Otherwise, he will bother your corals until they no longer open. And you know what comes after that.[/glow]

Bummer dude! OK, should I cover the wellsophyllia with a strawberry basket, until I can get a BTA and acclimate my clown to it?

I would hate to get rid of my metalic green beauty. Would prefer to find a replacement fish for the Petco. refugee.
