I have this fuzz stuff growing in my tank. It literally took over in the last couple days. Any ideas on what it is? Pics to come soon.

Used to be in GuitarMan's tank, too, if that helps. I saw it all over his rock when I was there, and thought it wasn't a big deal, since I only used the tiniest bit of any open areas with the stuff.

It's funny to be on the receiving end of this comment, after so long being on the giving end LMAO.

Ultra high res, so you can see it well.
The first is of the bit that got put in the tank, with a gigantic bali slimer lol. His looked like this:

    wow.. excellent pics!!
but i have no idea what that is lol.

Getting rid of it is the same pretty much no matter what algae it is.(as im sure you know)
Manually remove as much as you can.
    Reduce excess nutrients
    1. feed less
    2. more water changes
    3. rinse food in ro water prior to feeding
    are three major keys.
Buying some Phosban or GFO and putting a bag of it in the sump is always a good id as well as increasing flow and replacing old bulbs. (but your bulbs look fine)

I had something like that for a while, looks sort of like fine very short hairs. I have chitons in my tank and they and a large crew of hermits have wiped it out. Probably had help from aggressive nutrient removal.

    I've got nutrients under control.

This is a recent phenomenon, and was introduced into the tank within the last month. I want to know what, exactly, this crud is, because it's just gross on my rocks and I want it gone.

Yeah, I wish I could help, but I don't know. I am guessing it is a type of algae since the chitons and hermits decimated it.
