I just bought myself a normal garden hose to do something in my tank with. Now I was wondering if I have to cut those metal ends off ...
There is nothing written on there about what material it is. It is kinda golden looking. Any ideas?

saltwater is so corrosive I would cut the metal ends off and replace them with plastic.

well, If I cut them off then I just leave them "open". I don't want to connect them to anything anyway.

I think, usually, those metal fittings are made of brass or copper!!! Which you don't want in the tank. ;) Of course, I may be wrong! LOL

Oh, yeah, also, we have an RV and have to get special hoses for the drinking water hookups because the regular green ones are not suitable for drinking water and can leach some kind of something chemical into the water so you may want to reconsider using that hose and maybe get one made for drinking water. Rv or Boating stores should have them. Even some stores with camping stuff, Dick's sporting goods or Kmart maybe. :)

hm, well, I just cut off the ends. But I'll look into that with the chemicals. That's for that advice.
