    Hi,

Has anyone ordered any corals from www.garf.org?

I am trying to focus on aquacultured soft corals, and I am struggling to find good sources. My lfs's are not helpful in this area at all unfortunately.

By searching the site, I see some folks have ordered the "grunge" and seem to be happy with it. I am wondering if anyon has experience with their corals too?

I got a 10-pack of zoas from them. The colors were very nice, but the frags are small. Shipping was a bit high, too.

If you want aquacultured, though, they are going to have the best selection of interesting corals.

Thanks for the info. Did the corals arrive in good shape, and did they survive? Can you give me a ballpark idea on what you paid for shipping? Did you find them easy to work with?

The frags all survived. They were well packed and did as well as any livestock shipped across the country could expect to. Shipping was almost $60 if I remember right, but I did have a clean up crew on the same order. GARF has some young kids working there now who don't know much. If you can get Leroy on the phone, he will treat you right.

Great, thanks for the information. I am also considering using www.coraldynamics.com. They are out of Charlotte NC, which is much closer to my home (Atlana GA). Shipping will be cheaper anyway. Their stuff looks good on line, plus they have a lot of WYSIWYG specials, which I like. Once I decide which way to go and place an order, I will report back and let you all know about my experiences.

The frags I got from GARF are nicer than anything I see on the Coral Dynamics page. That's no reason not to try them, though.

Yeah, the $60 kind of shocked me. Enough to call them back, actually. But the frags were cool, so I let it go. I recommend confirming the shipping price before finalizing an order with GARF!

I had really good luck with reefermadness. Shipping is included in the listed price and the pieces are fantastic.check out the hand-picked stuff for some really cool WYSIWYG pieces, I got a Ouphylla crispa that was unbelievable.
