I normally don't feed the fishy kids flakes because 1. They didn't eat it. If they did it was a piece here and there 2. It lacks a good deal of vitamins

Today I got my Garlic Xtreme in (I have Selcon coming in too) soaked the flakes in it, waited then fed it to them... WOW

As soon as I released the food from the baster B & C went NUTS! They took to the flakes like I haven't seen before plus they are getting a healthy dose of garlic as well. I might soak it in the frozen blood worms too since B & C don't care for them too much but Gman gulps them up faster than I can put them in. :)

Garlic Xtreme is alright in my book :)

    (Man its strong too!!!!)

I think the best use of garlic is as a feeding aid for this very reason. It gets fish interested, and if they've been trained to one kind of garlicked food, they'll eat any garlicked food with nearly no trouble.

You can use garlic for them to get a sense of good food. if you are trying to get them to eat something new ( like when switching from live food to frozen) you can use garlic to train them to prepare to feast! they will then know that what ever hits the water next HAS to be food lol. I soak all my frozen foods in GX, Selcon, Vita-Chem and crushed up vitamin C tablets overnight to really let the goodies soak in.

I'm going to do that with their food once I get my Selcon in.

My lfs also stated garlic will also help with ick and other fish issues. I live by it. Also I use silvers from the Asian market aswell.

Garlic builds up the immune system to help prevent and if they have ick it builds it immune system up to help the body fight off the parasite. I've used it for a month now along with Selcon and my fishy kids are very active and growing like weeds. They grow up so fast :(
