Everything is looking real good. My only question is did you test to make sure your sump will hold any water in a loss of power? I only ask because of how much space the protein skimmer takes up. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, checked that when I cut the pump off to drain the freshwater out (draining now). Not much drains down from the overflows and the return lines are down pretty far in the tank and do not have the holes drilled in them to create a syphon when power goes out yet and the return in the sump still had plenty of room for more water.
The skimmer is big, the base is actually a hair bigger than a 5 gal bucket...lol...hope it does some serious skimming.
Thanks for trying to keep me in check vegas, I know sometimes you get carried away and forget the obvious sometimes but taking this slow and trying to get things right the first time. All suggestions welcome.

No doubt you are doing the build right. I'm only a little ahead of you but if you have any questions just let me know. That was how I got to where I'm at thanks to Tangster for setting up my plumbing ideas.

Well, got my sand (200lbs white) and looking around for rock. Also got to get my vortech powerheads and controller. It finally stopped raining long enough to get some honeydo jobs done. Got kinda backed up on them because everytime I was off work it would rain so not much to update on right now but hopefully soon.
