Wow, just heard the news. Massive heart attack. 2 icons with the Yankees gone in a few days of eachother...very sad. I was not a Yankees fan but wow what a shocker. This will rock the baseball world.

Sad news, a terrible week for Yankee fans. As a life long Yankee fan, there were times when I hated Steinbrenner. Love him or hate him you have to appreciate what he accomplished. Buying a team for 8.7 million and turning it into a worldwide brand worth well over a billion. Not to mention winning 7 titles. His passion for winning may never be matched by any other owner ever. Most importantly though which most people don't hear about is how charitable he was. He has given more to the cities of New York and Tampa than probably anyone else. If you get a chance, watch the Yankeeogrophy about him. You really can see what an incredible and generous man he was. I now look back and can't think of growing up without him lol. And thank him for so many great memories in my life. He had a big hand in it. RIP Boss, you will be missed.
