Many of you probably know about this but I always use a pair of full arm gloves (available at Drs. Foster & Smith among other places) when I put my hands in the tank. Its safer for your live stock and, I guess, for you too!

That's why you see pro's turing the bag over first

After your 12th sting, it gets easier though ;)

If it can get yah, it's got me :D

Belive it or not, foxface have a far worse "sting" then lionfish. The thing with lions is if your allergic to them ;)

For me it makes my fingers numb, with enough expsosure, and with a big blast, my entire arm goes numb. Lion fish make my arm tingle and my elbow hurt. Foxface make the genreal area feel like it's on fire, and the tingly arm. Sponges in my experience make your arm/hand break out into a rash, and some odd over all feelings (sponges can be the worst offender in a marine tank, watch out for them in general). Carpet anemonies can give a good sting, as can hairy mushrooms, euphyllia sp, chalice types and just about any LPS. Coral slime in general is another one people can develope a problem with.

repeated exposure can be the worst thing for you though, so gloves are HIGHLY recommended. If your not allegic to anything now, a repeated exposure can bring it on.

That is so weird.. I have touched my bubble coral many times with bare hands and gotten coral slime all over my hands and never had any burning/itching/ numbness .. hives anything.. yet everytime I get salt water on my skin it gets red and itchy from the salt. I have really sensitive skin, so I figured corals would have some effect. I have touched star polyps and zoas too. oh and mushrooms. tons of mushrooms I have touched those a ton when I was scraping them off the walls and such
