    I have a BRS Dual GFO/Carbon reactor.

The GFO keep clogging and slowing flow.

Clean it all up, put in fresh GFO, set the flow to barely a boil as instructed. After a few days enough GFO fines are captured in the foam at the output that it impedes flow and slows everything down.

Question #1. There are 3 round foam porous pads that come in each canister. My understanding was that one goes in the bottom that unscrews and two go in the neck for GFO. The GFO rests at the bottom in a slow boil. For carbon, one in the bottom, one in the neck and the other pushing the cabron against the neck so that it is not floating and banging against each other. Is that right???

Question #2. I was thinking of putting the GFO in a micron filter bag inside the cannister to defeat the problem. Thoughts????

I've used the same exact setup and noticed a similar problem, but it took much longer for it to occur. What pump are you using and are you throttling it back at all?

I have it slaved off my return pump and yes, I have both input and output valves to restrict the flow.....

    Don't get it.....

Well isn't that cool.... I guess the answer is that I didn't know that it existed!! So let me get this straight... EcoBak attacks nitrates and phosphates where GFO only does phosphates and Ecobak won't have the fines clogging issue.

Sounds wonderful. Any downside??? If not, I'll buy some tomorrow.

I spoke with Jon Warner.... Ecobak isn't for sale to the general public yet. He did agree to sell me some directly though.

    Look forward to getting it.

A report on its efficacy would be good once it is available to the public.;D
