I was reading older thread about GHA, I am polluted with it! I got all my perimeters in check and bought a good cleanup crew. It's doing alot better and I'm pulling alot out too and it's not growing back where I"m pulling it out. I tried seahares, twice but both ended up sucked up at the filter inlet for some odd reason. Anyway, I read that shutting the lights off for a few days at a time helps, what about the fish, will the lights being off hurt them? I moved all the corals to my 30 gallon reef so I only have fish and one bubble tip anemone in the 77 Gallon now. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

What parameters are you testing? Can you list the test results?

Can you test alkalinity, calcium and magnesium? I ask because if these levels are off, you can end up with algae problems.

If your LFS doesn't offer water testing for these elements, see if they sell Salifert test kits for alkalinity, calcium and magnesium. Keep in mind that each test could set you back $20+ a piece so if money's tight, I would definitely ask them to test your water until you can afford to buy your own kits.

Not a problem I"ll get it. My local store, well, leaves alot to be desired, he knows nothing! But I found one 2 hours away and they are a god send so I'll give him a call and he'll ship one out for me. I'll post my results. Thanks again.
