Glass Vs. Acrylic

    I guess in the end it all comes down to what you prefer. It is clearer so if you are keeping it in an invironment where you dont think it will get scratched maybe it is a better route.

    While were on the subject Iv seen people fix scratches in glass and clear plastics by putting a clear nail polish over it. Obviously it wouldnt work on the inside but I wonder if this would be a good quick fix for outside scratchs. I think Ill try it. If it works Ill post something about it in the DIY forum.

    a few years ago i had a 5 gallon eclipse acrylic tank set up..when i got my lionfish i got some ghost shrimp for him and put them in there..i could barely see inside the tank and the only think that was ever used to clean it was a washrag on the inside and paper towels on the outside

    I have a 110 gal acrylic tank a 55 gal glass tank. The acrylic tank is lighter but yes very easily scratched. I have a scratch remover kit that you can use inside the tank but only works on small not so deep scratches.

    Glass is also cheaper
