As the title says im going to be moving to a bare Bottom Tank. Tank is 120 gallons 4x2x2. I currently have a 30 gallon tank I am using as mny sump, i picked up a free 65 gallon tank from a fellow reefer and want to switch this for my sump. So i will be adding a deep sand bed in my sump.
I have about 160 pounds of live rock and a 300 gph marineland pro skimmer.

I am moving at the end of this month so i thought a perfect time to do the switch, Now im going to keeping my rock wet and use sand to speed start new stuff from tank and use aboput 50% old water.

Will this cause a big cycle? or what. when i moved and setup my 28g, i did this and it was cycled in like 2 days. But since im losing a big filter ie the sand in display tank, will this affect my cycle?

FWIW, since you're adding a DSB to the sump, you're really not "losing a big filter", you're just moving it. Furthermore, with that much LR and your skimmer, I really don't see any problems at all. Just keep the rocks wet and try to not stir up the old sand until everything is out of the tank.

    I agree.
I kept a filter sock worth of sand from my neo nano when I went bare and I did not cycle.
