Alright I got an Itch and I'm thinking about scratching it.

I have a standard 29 gal lying around and I was thinking about making it a reef tank. My thoughts are I want to include it in a closed system with my 100 gal FOWLR. I'm not sure if this is a good idea. I was hoping this may save cost a bit and also give me more balance as far as water quality and heat dissipation.

As far as lighting is concerned I am looking at 280 watts. This would be a 150w MH and 2 65w PC.

Pls give me your thoughts fellow reefers

It should be fine-kind of a coral fuge? 29 gal of new water wont kick it into a cycle-and should help it along. I would suggest 60-75 lbs of LR-but you know that. How do you plan to connect the two? Lighting is more than enough-maybe too much for a 29. Good luck
