Looked on Craigslist and saw that some one has two t5 fixtures for sale. My question is is it worth it?
    Nova Extreme HO Lighting Fixture - 4 x 54W T5HO - 48 in.

swagger its a good price, but , the lamps are 2 years old so they are no good
and if the splach cover is warped you may end up cracking/ breaking it when you try and add the new lamps

if it where me, I would want to wait and buy new or wait until a better condition/ unwanted purchase option came up on the list.

I know the bulbs are bad and I can replace the plastic easily.
They also have a Tek T5 48" 4bulb fixture that comes with 8 new bulbs for $200.

Lol, Now the only thing is coming up with $200 extra. I just wanted to see if the $50 would be worth buying and fixing up. I could either sell it for more or keep it

Well $50 for the fixture. Then about $100 for good new bulbs you'll be at $150 and you still need to fix the splash guard. So its only about $40 more for option 2. I would go with option 2.

Yeah, the only thing is that I don't have $200 on me for it. The bulbs in the TEK have three years on them (Even the 8 "new" ones were his old replaced bulbs.) I talked to the guy on the phone about it.

Ahhh that changes a lot then. Looks like you'll need new bulbs on either fixture. So the $50 is looking a lot better. :)

I'd wait, alot of killer deals come up on craigslist from time to time. We just picked up some MH equipment for free. Some lady had a 2x175 set up with sockets, fixtures and ballasts laying around gave it away. Still needs bulbs but can beat the free part. Keep checking around something else cheap will more then likely pop up.
