I second PackLeader. We added a mated pair of ocellaris clowns for our first fish and they have been great. We had a little trouble with them after we added the coral beauty with some torn fins, but the CB put them in their place and all get along well now.

get a family of occellaris try and pair up like 5 of them little ones there awesome. Also the maroons get extremely aggressive i have one and hes gotten massive and bashed everyone specially if you have an anemone in there though they look awesome and i hear the gold stripe ones arnt as agressive. But still i wouldnt go with them

Well I don't want to get clowns for my first fish because down the road i would like to add a pair of maroons and they would kill the occellaris. So I was thinking maybe a coral beauty for my first fish. What do you guys think?

i liked my maroon when i had him, he was my second fish but the one that got me to start my marine tank, i wouldnt get a pair as they may be more agressive since they could potential view the tank as a mating area.. percs are boring compared to maroons. maroons seem to dance to music with there specialized clown wiggle.

if you get a young one i dont particularily see a problem with agression. the maroon i had although old only demanded submissiveness with its tank mates, as long as they didnt challenge her she wouldnt challenge them. but she did have to teach a couple damsels there place.

I would say, go with one at first. Just to make sure everything is fine with ur tank regarding your parms and cycle. If however, you are sure that your tank has fully cycled and water quality is up to par, then you can add say 3-4 of the fishes you intend on keeping.
Your only problem with adding one fish in the beginning is, if the first fish happens to be very territorial such as a clown or trigger, your gonna end up with serious aggression issues when you do decide to add more;)

Cool, in that case I'll make sure my tank is fully cycled then add a pair of occelaris clowns and a small hippo tang.
