Could anyone recommend me a decent HOB protein skimmer for a 55 gal tank? Oh and I'm looking to spend $80-$120.

ummm aquatraders would be the last place I'd go for a skimmer. you have a pm.

I didn't mean for that to come out sounding rude, it's just aquatraders is known for lower end stuff. I did use their t6's and liked them alot, but when you are talking skimmer, you need to go with the tried and true...know what I mean?

Unless you go used, you're not going to find one in that range, There are two things you do not want to skimp on in this hobby, and that's skimmer's and lights ;)
I would look into an Octopus BH-100F. You can find them for only about $20-$30 more than your price range.

You could go with a Precision Marine HOT. However, it suppose to max out at 50 gallons and the amount of skimming necessary depends on how much bioload your intending to keep.

Listen to this quote. The 2 things you don't wanna go cheap on. Why waste your money. IF you "HAD TO" I've used a Prizm HOB that worked really well. I still use it to dose my carbon and it still skims stuff over after my Urchin. My next will be an Octopus after I get a chiller and some other small things. For now mine does the job.
