    I made a rookie mitake.

I tested phosphate last night and registered a 0.095 reading. I did two 15% water changes last night; It was my first in months. Earlier in the day I swapped out my GFO as routine maintance.

Having cared for SPS for 18 months now, I have a decent grasp on signs of stress. I noticed that my montipora seemed a bit different in the AM, even with lights off. I didn't think much of it. When I got home from work, I noticed it seemed dull, as did two other coral. They didn't flourece under actinic either.

I decided to run tests. Temperature was 78, pH was 7.8, salinity was 1.025, calcium was 435, magnesium was 1480, alk was 3.25. I tested phosphorus on my Hanna Checker ULR and it read "0". Upon that result, I realized my issue. I cleared up the water and my LEDs began to bleach the coral. Now ore that 7 hours of lights on initiated it. Thankfully I caught it early. I cut the lights off, reduced my photoperiod, and dropped the intensity to the lowest setting. Looks like I'll be acclimating for awhile.

Seems like a lesson learned, doesn't it?

Oddly though, I wasn't having algae issues or color issues. Calc/alk stayed steady through dosing etc. My 150 gallon skimmer and reactor seemed to keep up.

My mind set has always been that water changes rarely are a negative.

I agree. My issue arose from neglect of water changes.

Any other suggestions on recovering from a slight bleach?

I bumped my photo period to 5 hours at the lowest intensity. Lights have been out for 14 hours now.
