Kind if hard to explain was trying to post a before and after pic. But basically I got it on Friday it was doing great when I last saw it on Sunday morning (i live in another town when i work at my second job) we had just put in a new 20 g sump sat night. My boyfriend txts Mr yesterday saying my new fan wasn't doing so well. When I arrive I'm completely shocked! It's no longer purple its flesh is falling off and its brown it looks so terrible :( its my favorite piece in the tank

If it has brown polyps they need lots of light. If it has white polyps it needs to be fed. IME if it is turning brown and falling apart it is not getting enough flow, light ,or food. These like heavy flow regardless of type. Try pointing a PH directly at it if possible.

If it is really falling apart it may be necessary to try and clip the live protions and reattach them to a rock.;)
