Seeing that my tank has been giving me stable readings of late I went out and bought my first fish yesterday, an Ocellaris Clown.

I am passing out cigars for the newest arrival. My wife just loves him. Ummm, she was even talking to him yesterday. ::)

As I only have LR in my tank presently with no anemones for him to associate with will this cause him stress? Also, do you think that my four powerheads are too much for the little guy. I would hate for him to be whipped around the tank.

    Thanks in advance.

congrats and karma for your new baby :).
And i wouldn't worry about the anemone if he wasn't already hosting one.

Congrats on the new fish! Like acenia said... dont worry about the anemone or your powerheads... if the water movement is to strong in one spot he will just avoid it... He should be happy as a fish in water!!!

I have two tank raised ocellaris, they seem to stay in the current. If it proves to be too much, they'll just swim lower. I would get LR to further stabilize your tank cycle. ::)

Congrats on the first fish, they are extremely hardy.

i wouldnt worry about water flow my male clown sits right in front of the powerhead like hes swimming up stream he seems to like it. and also they are not picky about what they host. my pair have hosted and changed host like a clam shell, power head, tree coral, a plastic tube, and now there on the finger leather coral they change there minds like people change socks

For all their beauty, anemones seem more stress than their worth. Worrying about them being fed, getting enough light, keeping them from being munched up by a power head.. etc...

My clowns are happily hosting in brains, toadstool leather, mushrooms and zoos even.

Don't worry if they dont' host immediately. Sometimes it just takes some time.

    Did you get two?
