In my 55 FOWLR tank I've got turbo grazers, margaritas and red legged hermits and plenty of them but the glass is getting green with algae. What else can I add w/o having to scrape them off manually?

I just went through a cycle and had that problem. I also started putting in Dr. G's plankton as the DT plankton caused the glass to get green. I think it's just part of the maintainence needed in the hobby. My mini-cycle is over and it's looking better. I use a magnetic scraper and a cleaning stick. As long as it's not red slime or cyano algae it's just normal. Tweak your water parameters too. Check your PH and Alkalinity. Keep them up high on the scale when possible. That might help. Get plenty of snails and hermits too. A couple dozen fresh snails can help a lot. Good luck.

Is it nuisance algae or green coralline algae?

razors are the best way. snails will pick at it but they don't keep it gone that is up to you. just one of the down sides.

Im having the same issue as you my friend. I get little blossoms of green algea on my glass. I was thinking about beefing up on the snails, cause i have no algea growing anywhere else in my system. I got several hermits controlling that. Best way i have found to remove this is. Once a day go over all the glass with a magnetr cleaner. Then once every 2 weeks i take a non abrassive scrub pad and spend about an hour making sure i get it all good and clean. Im sure there is a better way of doing this. Like others stated a sharp razor works fine. Just make sure you buy NEW blades that arnt presoaked in oil.
However i will continue to use my scub pad. Its not hard work, and if i want to keep a clean nice system then i am more than willing to do it. + I get a laugh when my false perc shows aggression twards my hand and nips at it. lol... Hope this has helped you in some form.

Same problem here, see snails every once in a while on it but will never be able to keep it down. Mag-Float and Scrubbing where i cant get to with a pad clears it right up, im sure its just part of the regular maintenance. Gives your filter feeders something to chow down on when you stir it off the glass anyway.
