Got home from work today and my Green Star Polyp is not out. Everything else looks fine. The temperature did go up to 81, has been around 79 to 80.

They do that every once in a while. As long as mat looks good they should be OK.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
IMO they are just weird like that. If everything else is fine, give it a couple of days. Mine stayed closed for a week a couple months ago for some unknown reason.

Sometimes algae growth on the piece will irritate it and cause it to close.

GSP will do this from time to time, but it can be an indicator of something out of whack as well. However, if everything else is fine then give it a couple days and see what happens. GSP is about the most bullet proof coral there is.

Make sure its in good flow, IME they like lower temp at like 76 or soo, but be sure no nuisance algae is getting on it, that will make it mad.

Looks OK, just make sure you have it in a higher flow area of your tank.

Part of the mat is loose. Can I cut it off and put it somewhere else ?
