Green stringy algae

    I have a bunch of green stringy algae growing all over the tank, any tips in controlling this problem?

    Sounds like hair algae - but to be sure, can you post a pic?

    Yep sounds like HA. Once you post a pic we can diagnose more thoroughly. A few typical questions while you are getting the pic.

    How long has the tank been running and out of your cycle?
    What are your chemistry levles specifically No3, and Po4
    What type of lights are you running and how old are you bulbs?
    What are you using for a skimmer, sump, fuge basically any nutrient export that you have in place.
    What is your tank size and bio load fish, coral, inverts etc.
    What do you have for flow in GPH?
    What are your feeding habits?
