    Whoa! Crystal clear water like I haven't seen in my aquarium in a month or so! Thanks so much everybody! Now to keep it that way.
    Maybe a stupid question, but would this phyto bloom have anything to do with feeding "phyto-plan" to my corals? Maybe the excess doesn't get filtered out? IDK.

    after week of using uv sterilizer most of green algae go away, but steel lot of them on the rocks, and it start to turn in durk green- black, what to do in this situation ? shut lights off?

    72 hour blackout worked for me and stopped using tap water period. No problems since!

    don't mean to thread jack but has anyone ever treated green water with a diatom filter in a salt water tank? i had a horrible green water outbreak when i upgraded my lighting for my fresh water planted tank, when it was young. I have to say it did an amazing job, within a few hours the water was crystal clear and never turned green again. i ran it for just a few hours total. thankfully the lfs let me borrow a unit for a night for a few bucks.
