    Hello!

My name is Camil. I work at University of Groningen, The Netherlands as a PhD student in biophysical chemistry - Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Lab.

I'm currently working on the following setup:
    • Jewel 240 Rio tank (approx. 65g) with internal filter and 200W heater,
    • Deltec MC 500
    • Eheim 2227 filter.
    • Inside I've got 2x54W T5 lights (one 6500K and 12000K) and planning to add additional 2.
    • 22kg of live rock (mixed)
I've been cycling for at least 1 week now and decided to boost the nitrite/nitrate cycle by addition of custom made growth medium for denitrification bacteria we prepared in our labs. I wish I could keep a small colony of Amphiprion ocellaris (5-6) and maybe some other fish. We shall see... :Halloween42:

Just wanted to greet everybody from rainy and considerably cloudy city of Groningen in the Netherlands...!

    Cheerio!

Welcome to 3reef. Glad to have you aboard.
If it was me I would let the tank just cycle with mother natures help instead of adding snake oils but as long as you are comfortable with what you are doing then by all means go ahead.
Post some pics of your piece of the ocean when you get a chance.

    Hi/Dag Camil
    "Goedemorgen/Goedenavond/Goedenacht"???? (Whatever :Halloween44:)

Glad to see you found way here! ;D

Sounds like you have a great project in hand...Keep in touch, so we can see how all goes. Send pics when you can.

(Don't recall Groningen, but I am very familiar with Nijmegen --- had a very good friend ( :sweethear) - who I visited much during my 5 year US Army stay in Frankfurt. :army: -- met her during the annual marches there which I never missed) --- many years ago, but lots of fond memories - came very close to becoming "Dutch" myself. :Halloween41:)

Let us know anything we can help with!

From overcast, chilly, PNW (Silverdale, WA)

    "Veel geluk"

    Dank U well!

It's so nice to hear You remember The Netherlands and Nijmegen. Many things have changed over there in last 5 years. The Heyendall-district of the city has expanded, they've built many new lovely things over there for the University :D

    Cheerio!
