The food would be great for the SPS. But, controlling the nitrate and phosphate with that much food is going to be the trick. Though, I have to keep just about as clean of water for NPS as you do for SPS...

I'm not going to try to keep both right away. But I may give it a shot if I can keep my N and P down while still keeping so much fresh food in the system.

I actually have about 8 of the BRS single head dosers. But I want something compact so it doesn't take up much room in the little fridge and will still have as many heads as possible. I also want something with as few wires coming back out of the fridge as possible so I don't lose much cooling power.

The light required for SPS is going to be more of a problem for the NPS than keeping the water clean for the SPS. Long term, the NPS that I have don't do well anywhere near bright light.

Are you planning on using an on board controller with the dosers, or connecting them to a controller?

That's what I meant :) Sorry if you already posted this, but what kind of skimmer and other means of filtration are you using?

barbianj is right: Make sure you have some shaded spots for your NPS if you want to grow SPS ;)

I'm probably going to go with a stand alone to eliminate as many chords as I can that have to come out of the fridge.

Many of the articles I have read seem to be of the opinion that light doesn't matter (you could have none or a ton). But many peoples experiences tell me differently.

At the end of the day. My goal is NPS and all parameters and considerations will be made solely for their health and not any other corals I may end up throwing in there.

Using a coast to coast overflow and bean animal plumbing to get the dirtiest water to the sump.

I'm going to run Ecoback pellets in a SRO reactor. And will be using an ETSS skimmer with the new Reeflo Blowhole 2700 pump which runs pressures up to 30'

    E.T.S.S. 2000 XR
    Reeflo Blowhole 2700gph

And I'm going to run my SantaMonica 100 Algae scrubber which can handle up to 10 cubes of food a day.

The last defense is my Auto Water Change system which will change about 10% of the total water volume a day (about 6 gallons) (Fashioned after this one)

It's a very aggressive approach to filtration! It's funny thinking about all this on a 65g tank!!

I'm hoping I can pull the algae scrubber and use it for my QT systems instead. I plan on going crazy with the feeding in an attempt to successfully keep a Crinoid.

    One like this!
