I'm not sure how you could save money doing this unless you all live in the same area. Shipping costs are going to kill you and somebody will have to take the responsibility to ship to all of the different locations.

Agreed.........Taking away one of the biggest advantages of a "group buy".

Actually BRS will ship out to different locations and basically lumps everyone's order together for cost purposes, but gives the qty discount, along with any other group buy discount.

BRS is the only one that that does this, and could make this work for a forum that is all over the place. I don't know about non continental US addy's, but I know this will work.

Our local club recently did a BRS group buy, so I know pretty much how it works.

They adjust the prices on stuff enough that they make it worth while.

For example, the PH probe I needed would have been like 10 dollars off, even though I was the only one ordering a ph probe.

If you order more than 1 thing, you are golden.

Gotta say BRS really makes this easy.
One person sets up the GB, gets all the emails of the guys going in on the buy and emails the list of emails to BRS. Once BRS sets up the GB, usually like a week after the GB email list is sent in, then they email all the people involved in the GB, and give you a set week or so period to log in with your account,a nd shop away as usual. If you log out and compare the non GB prices, to the GB prices you will see how this works.

Yes, you pay individual shipping costs, but you can make up for this easily.

    You always can order more;)

I Think BRS needs like 10-15 for a GB to work. I doubt that would be an issue.

If this GB happens, I would be in on it.
