    +1; I've had mine going for a week. I started with a couple pellets to generate bacteria, but like the phyto idea and may try it. I used a little two gallon hexagon tank (about 1/3 full) we had laying around and put it on a piece of cardboard to help see them. Survival rate is very high so far and I do have critters of various sizes. I just put a little water mark on the tank. On days that I use them, I put DT water in and then turkey baster out back to my mark. On the other days, I add a little fresh water to keep salinity constant. I've been using them as snacks so far.

    EDIT: Not a lot of sunlight this time of year up here, so I have the tank sitting next to the fuge and getting light from the fuge light. Seems to be working so far.
