First pic is from 7-5 and it was doing great, then out of nowhere it closed up and hasn't opened since.

    This is from yesterday:

I took it out and dipped it and used a turkey baster to clean it off because it just looked dirty. As you can see the purple mat that was growing over the plug just blew off when basting and it still hasn't opened. Suggestions appreciated!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
GSP just do that and can stay closed for quite a while.

If it dose not open in a day or two you can take a turkey baster and remove whatever detritus or algae has accumulated on the frag. If no results after that try some higher flow.

Thanks! I did the baster before the last pic because it just looked dirty. I'll see what happens and try higher flow if nothing after a few days.

My zoas do this occasionally but never stay closed for more than a few hours (if that). My zoas are open and looking decent IMO. Here's a pic I just took of the zoas.

GSP will close out of nowhere and for large periods of time. I have 2 large areas of neon GSP and while there mostly open they do close for days at a time. Make sure there's nothing stinging or irritating it.

Yea there isn't anything near it, it's just a frag. I only have these two frags at the moment. I'll just wait them out and hopefully they open back up sooner than later!
