GSP turning white?

    hey everyone i have this frag of GSP for a lil over a month now and around some of the edges its like a white or really light purple kinda is it new growth or what?

    yes. GSP mantle can be light-dark purple or even white. I wouldn't worry unless it starts turning black. Once that stuff gets ahold it spreads very fast.:)

    so ur saying its new growth or what because the whole mat in dark purple

    More than likely yes. does it look like ooze? I've noticed with mine that when it really gets oozing the new spots are completely white for a week or so.

    idk really haha it just looks white lol but everywhere else its all good the polyps are happy all the time and stuff so i wasnt worried exactly i was jsut wondering if it was new growth or something else but i hope its new growth lol

    GSP is pretty hardy. I wouldn't worry much.
    Give it lost of flow and it should be fine

    They don't really grow out but more like in 'layers'. It'll ooze (sorry but can't think of a better word) to spread, it'll ooze on top of itself. I have 2 types, I think one is Evergreen Starburst and the other is just GSP.
