About a week ago I got some GSP and the second day they started coming out but for only short times. Is this normal for them. The LFS has one fourescent light on the tank it came from, I have a 6 bulb T-5 over a 55 gallon tank...Could it just be adjusting to the light or is it a strange coral like the leather's are?

GSP are normally out full time when it's light out. They may or may not retract in the darkness. If they're not out during the day, something's wrong.

Give me some ideas as to what would be wrong so I can fix things...

all of mine will hide for a week, for no reason that I know of. I have diff colonies and they do it at diff times. But they have done this for years. It is likely they are adjusting themselves to the light and water.

Brush them off under a powerhead with an old toothbrush or any soft bristled brush. They may have a build up of bio jelly

So did mine. Then it did it again when I fragged it. Now, a week later they are in full bloom when the light is on. I say be patient. Good luck!
