Not what we were expecting for a halftime show. They could have done much better then The Who. To be honest I'm surprised they all made it through the entire set alive.

I was just browsing this thread since it popped back up, saw the quad comment and it made me burst out laughing.

My first show was Rush - my mom and dad would NOT allow me to go with my friends, so they TOOK me....believe me, that was how much i loved Rush - i was willing to go with my parents who are NOT into that stuff whatsoever.

This was way way back in 77. Someone tried to offer my father a puff of something. He very politely turned the offer down while i wanted to crawl away. The air was plenty thick enough where we were seated, and i noticed my mother starting to almost...doze off.

    Ah yeah - the memories.

    Funny how things happen, eh?

The Who concert in 1975 was one my older sister and a girlfriend of hers were supposed to go to, and my dad was the driver for the event. Well, my mom if I recall wasn't home for some reason, so I tagged along with my dad and sister. It was the loudest thing I had ever heard in my life. I remember Roger Daltrey swinging the microphone in his inimitable style. For months before, my sister had been playing the Tommy soundtrack so I knew all the songs.

At the concert, they played the whole album. I can't express how much I enjoyed that show.

That was probably the single biggest influence in my life which led me into music. I played the clarinet and bass clarinet in elementary school. Shortly after that concert I got a set of drums. It was off to a short attempt at violin, sax, and keyboards after I finally landed a guitar during college.

Ten years old at a Who concert. Happy days! :)
